CPT at University of Fairfax

CPT Availability

University of Fairfax authorizes Curricular Practical Training (CPT) for eligible F1 students from the very first day of enrollment. This allows students to begin gaining U.S. work experience immediately while completing their degree requirements.

Hybrid Academic Format

The program is designed to be compatible with full-time employment. Onsite attendance is required one 16-week in-person residency course plus one 8-week online course per semester, with the remainder of coursework completed online or asynchronously — allowing students to maintain CPT authorization without interrupting their work schedule.

Academic Integration

CPT at UF is fully integrated into the curriculum. Students complete coursework that directly relates to their internship or employment position, and CPT is renewed each semester as long as the student maintains satisfactory academic progress and continues enrollment.

Student Responsibilities
